Top 10 Destinations for Solo Travelers

Traveling with friends and family is wonderful and it’s awesome to create memories with the people you love, but it has some downsides.  Getting together with others to figure out where you want to travel, figuring out how to split costs, and having to come to a consensus on activities/dining options.  Traveling alone is an entirely different experience.  Solo travelers get to create adventures on their own, make their schedules as they see fit, and engage in any activity that sparks their interest. Exploring new places alone sounds daunting, but it is an unparalleled experience that allows you to learn about different locales in a unique way.

If you’ve decided to embark on a solo adventure, you should check out these awesome destination ideas!

Tokyo is one of the most striking cities in the world, with the highest population percentage on Earth. Despite being densely populated, it is one of the safest places for solo travelers. Japan has built its capital with convenience in mind, so the city is quite easy to navigate, no matter how busy it gets. The public transportation system functions really well, and there are multilingual signs everywhere. So, the only way to get lost there is if that is your intention!

Tokyo is home to unique museums, breathtaking gardens, and striking temples, not to mention Japanese cuisine and the many restaurants in the city's heart. In short, it is the perfect place for an authentic cultural experience!

Rome is another gorgeous destination for solo travel. The Italian capital is a place where you get to learn about art and culture. Furthermore, the Italians are known as the friendliest and most hospitable group of people on the planet, so you won’t only absorb cultural knowledge, but could also make some new friends. Tuscany, Italy

Since I already mentioned Italy, I can’t leave out Tuscany. This glorious region is a true heaven for solo travelers. Tuscany offers beautiful scenery and striking surroundings that will take your breath away. You can spend time exploring different areas of Tuscany on one of the many hiking trails in the region. And if that’s not enough, you can enroll in a cooking class or partake in truffle hunting. If you do not mind the cold weather, then you will love Reykjavik. Iceland’s capital is home to gorgeous cafes, shops, and art galleries. However, its landscapes are the highlight of this city. Vacations in Reykjavik can be quite versatile, depending on your traveling style. You can either explore the natural surroundings or opt for a more urban experience.  And why not take the opportunity to see the Northern Lights?

Plus, finding accommodation is a piece of cake, considering Iceland’s capital offers an abundance of affordable hotels, motels, and plenty of Airbnb options.
