A few years ago, Gaudy Language profiled animator Ezra Edmond and his short film, Blewish. Since then, he's written a children's book, My Friend LeVar, and worked on projects like Disney Jr.'s animated series, Ariel. Recently, he wrote his debut YA novel, Cerberus The Tiger: The Tiger Saga. The novel is the story of a young tiger, Cerberus, searching for his long-lost father who is presumed dead after a terrible lab accident. After discovering that his father may not be dead, only lost in space and time, Cerberus sets off in pursuit, finding friends and finding new aspects of himself along the way.

Edmond's lovingly written novel takes readers on a journey and introduces them to far-flung hamlets and a fascinating cast of characters that Cerberus meets along the way. Before Cerberus' scientist father disappeared, the two created a portal through time. Now Cerberus and his new-found friends find themselves in a battle against an evil king who wants access to the portal and is searching for the ultimate power- control over time. With its cinematic pacing and relatable characters, this novel balances action and heart.

Ezra Edmond's passion for his characters speaks through each page and he brings care to each character and the lore, create a rich world of interesting animal characters. Cerberus himself is a protagonist that many YA readers can see themselves in- resilient, full of heart, and although occasionally uncertain, always finds it within himself to "try." Readers will root for him on every step of his journey.

Whether you're a fan of adventure novels, coming-of-age stories, or just YA novels with likeable characters, Cerberus The Tiger will be able to deliver.
